Description: You’ve waited till the last minute to put together your funding pitch, but have been locked in a closet for too long with your business and have little confidence in your speaking abilities. Don’t take a chance and wing it! Presentations fall flat when the speaker is paralyzed by stage fright and when the content is cluttered or boring. This is a highly interactive and practical workshop. The participants will be engaged in learning practices and concepts that they will be able to employ immediately to assist them in all presentation situations, no matter what size group they may be addressing.
This workshop will cover the basics and prepare you to deliver a clear, confident and compelling pitch, with tips on dealing with speaker’s anxiety, content organization, and slide design and management. We’ll also address the unique challenges that women entrepreneurs may face when speaking in front of large audiences, and how to use that to their advantage.
Connie Miller is a presentation skills coach with a background as a professional actress, artist and mediator. She’s also our highly acclaimed First Look Forum pitch coach!
To close this session we will be joined by a panel of women who will speak about their experiences in the spotlight, and some of the unique experiences that women can face. We are pleased to be joined by:
Deb Hagen-Lukens, Principal Clarity Communications Consulting and Entrepreneurial Marketing Lecturer Foster School of Business, UW
Jan Hendrickson, Managing Partner Denny Hill Capital
Pamela Rhodes, Senior Vice President & Private Client Consultant US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management
Cost: $30 for members – $60 for non-members
This event is designed for entrepreneurs, not service providers, and space is limited. Thanks for your understanding!
